This year’s Best Picture Oscar winner was Moonlight. The film was based on a script by Tarell Alvin McCraney called In the Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue. McCraney shared an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. A few years ago his play Choir Boy was at the Geffen Playhouse. His new play, Head of Passes, is now in previews for an official opening on Sunday, September 26th at the Mark Taper Forum. Phylicia Rashad, who won a Tony Award for her performance in A Raisin in the Sun, stars as a woman battling a leaky roof on her birthday. But perhaps the biggest challenges she faces are those from her friends and family.
