Downtown’s Grammy Museum is opening a new exhibition centered on jazz legend John Coltrane. The exhibit is called Chasing Trane: John Coltrane’s Musical Journey Transcended.
To launch the exhibit, the museum is holding a screening of the documentary film Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary on Friday, November 17th. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director John Scheinfeld. The exhibit, which will be on display through September of next year, will include audio recordings, manuscripts, instruments and rare performance footage.
Friday’s event is timed for the launch of the DVD/Blu-Ray Release of the documentary.
