Early this year, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley recognized that the shift in America was widening the divide between in our country. The need to support organizations addressing both human rights and civil rights motivated them to create a series called Concert for America: Stand Up, Sing Out!
The first concert took place in New York in January. Since then eight additional concerts have been held. Amongst the artists who have participated have been Betty Buckley, Michael Urie, Vanessa Williams, Will Chase, Randy Rainbow, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Alan Cumming, Jane Lynch, Matthew Broderick and Chita Rivera
Tonight the 10th concert in their series takes place in Virginia. And you don’t have to be there to experience the show! You can livestream it on Concert for America’s Facebook Page. And you’ll get to see Chita Rivera, Judy Kuhn, Maureen McGovern, Kerry Butler, Maurice Hines and more perform.
The organizations supported by these concerts include National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the National Immigration Law Center, the Sierra Club Foundation, the NAACP and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The show starts at 7:30 PM ET, so the live stream will be at 4:30 PM PT.
