There have been many reinterpretations of the story of Robin Hood. There was Robin and the 7 Hoods, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Robin and Marian (definitely worth checking out), and of course the Kevin Costner version perhaps best known for a crappy song by Bryan Adams.
Now comes The Heart of Robin Hood, which is a play at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts opening this week. Here they still steal from the rich, but they have yet to figure out the second part of the equation. It takes Marion to come in and point them towards some sense of altruism. The show incorporates music, acrobatics and good storytelling to reimagine this classic tale. The play was written by David Farr and directed by Gisli Örn Gardarsson and Selma Björnsdóttir.
The website for this production says it is suitable for adults of all ages and brave children.
