This slightly longer than an hour play tells of a successful Shakespeare battling depression, insomnia and a marriage that is having its challenges – including the inability to find the dog. Well Strung The Singing String Quartet

Well-Strung The Singing String Quartet – The Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Renberg Theatre

January 21

Well-Strung is a quartet of musicians who combine the classical form of quartet with the pop songs of our time. So if you’ve ever longed to hear Rihanna (the singer, not the Fleetwood Mac song), Kelly Clarkson and others with a classical twist, this show is for you. A little trivia: Two of the members of this quartet are competing in this season’s The Amazing Race. They finished fourth in this week’s episodes and Entertainment Weekly in their recap of the episode raved about their abs.

The young organist has a solo concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall
Katelyn Emerson

Katelyn Emerson Recital – Walt Disney Concert Hall

January 21

Though only recently out of school, Katelyn Emerson is making a name for herself. She will be playing the massive pipe organ at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in a program that features works by Bach, Rheinberger, Widor and Dupré. If you’ve never experienced the power of the pipe organ at WDCH, this is a great example to do that and catch a fast-rising star in the process.
