So much has been written and depicted about Jacqueline Kennedy that you might be asking yourself if there’s anything new to discover.  Playwright Tom Dugan offers a more human depiction of the First Lady in Jackie Unveiled. The show begins previews at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday in advance of its opening on February 28th.

Saffron Burrows, who appears in the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle, plays Kennedy. Jenny Sullivan directs.

Of her own life, Jackie Kennedy said ” I’ll be a wife and mother first, then First Lady.” But she also said, “The one thing I don’t want to be called is First Lady. It sounds like a saddle horse.” Perhaps within there lies the dichotomy of the woman depicted in Jackie Unveiled.
