Along with his wife, Marilyn, Alan Bergman has written lyrics to some of the best-loved songs in the American songbook. On Thursday night Mr. Bergman will take to the stage at Catalina Bar & Grill (along with some surprise guests) to celebrate their work together.
Late in his career Bergman has starting singing in public. His website says composer Dave Grusin refers to him as a “closet crooner.” But since taking to performing in public, he has graced the stages of Feinstein’s at the Regency, the Oak Room at the Alonquin and the Jazz Bakery amongst others. He even recorded and released an album entitled Lyrically, The Songs of Alan and Marilyn Bergman.
