Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton & Tamir Hendelman, one of the most exciting pianists in jazz, are teaming up for an intimate show on Thursday at the blue whale in Little Tokyo. This is a warm-up gig for a tour the two will embark on in September to Japan.
There is no new album to promote (yet), no agenda behind these shows other than the simple pleasure of a great vocalist and a sublime pianist pairing up to flex their musical muscles. Expect to hear Brazilian music, standards and perhaps even some audience requests find their way into the songs performed in the two sets they have on Thursday night.
