It is unlikely you’ll ever find Bette Midler, Céline Dion, Barbra Streisand, Britney Spears, Liza Minnelli, Idina Menzel, Bernadette Peters, Cher, Adele and countless other divas on the same stage at the same time. But, you can hear them vis-a-vis Christina Bianco who is performing her show Me, Myself and Everyone Else at Feinstein’s at Vitello’s in Studio City on Friday night.
As you might expect with her ability to impersonate other performer’s voices, Bianco appeared in Forbidden Broadway. She was part of that legendary roast of Broadway in the 2014 Menier Chocolate Factory production in London and she also received a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in 2008’s Forbidden Broadway Goes to Rehab. She received a second Drama Desk nomination for 2015’s Application Pending (a one-woman show).
Bianco has a great singing voice. But it is for her impersonations that she’s been regularly seen on the morning shows and various talk shows. If I were a talent booker for one of those shows, I’d put her on, too. Not only do you get an incredibly talented performer, you save on the security, hair and make-up fees and more that would be required if you actually had all the divas in her repertoire on the shows!
In case you were wondering, Michael Feinstein’s name is now on the space formerly known as Upstairs At Vitello’s. Feinstein, who is involved with 54 Below in New York and Feinstein’s at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, has now partnered with Vitello’s. The room needed some upgrading. Hopefully that has or soon will be happening. Feinstein will be performing there June 14th and 15th.
