You might recall I did a two-part interview with Jason Davidson of Nocturnal Fandango after experiencing two of their completely unique and exhilarating shows for an audience of one. Starting this week they have an even more intriguing proposition: Take Me, a two-hour solo theatre experience. Performances begin on Friday and continue through Saturday. They pick up again next week on the 26th and 27th.
If you haven’t read my interview, I suggest you go to part one and part two so you can get a sense of what Nocturnal Fandango does and what Take Me might offer.
I wish I could tell you I was being purposely vague about the show. However, I won’t know anything about it until I see the show this Friday. But if my past experience is any indication, Take Me will leave me excited, moved, challenged and more.
You might also think I’m purposely avoiding giving any information about where Take Me takes place. But I don’t know that either. My guess is I will find out on Thursday.
For this journey into the world of Nocturnal Fandango I’m bringing along two colleagues from my office. I’ve been assured that when we are done, the three of us will discuss having very different experiences of the same show.
The one thing I can tell you is this is not like going to a Halloween show where you would expect people to pop out of nowhere and scare you. This is not that. In fact, it was those shows that inspired the creation of Nocturnal Fandango in the first place.
The first weekend is completely sold out. Tickets remain for next weekend’s shows. For tickets go here.

Update: Prompted by an anonymous comment posted on a Cultural Attaché story about Nocturnal Fandango, I called Jason Davidson to get a comment and clarification. He told me that Nocturnal Fandango has ceased operation.
