Each year it takes approximately six hours longer than a full year for the earth to complete a rotation around the sun. Those six hours get pocketed for later use every four years when they total 24 hours. That is the reason we have Leap Year. To celebrate this quadrennial event is jackbenny with their show And on the 366th Day which they will perform at Luckman Fine Arts Complex on…February 29th of course!

jackbenny is the pairing of twin brothers Jack and Benny Lipson. They are singers, songwriters, musicians who infuse their material with the kind of skill and thought that would find them fitting in effortlessly with the likes of Cole Porter and Randy Newman. (How’s that for a pair?) Despite their old souls, they are creators of and for our time.

Recently they were the curators of Musik! Fantasie! Revolution! which was a part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Weimar Republic series that recently concluded. That event sold out in less than on hour. Last March their show, It’s National See-A-Show Day sold out at Luckman.

What can you expect from And On the 366th Day? New material to be sure. Songs from a show of theirs that has not been performed in Los Angeles called All Aboard! The Train of Thought. Some classic material as well. And then you just don’t know what else might happen. That’s the beauty of their shows – anything can happen.

Joining jackbenny for And On the 366th Day will be Bella Hicks, Nina Herzog, Jonnie Reinhart, John Schroeder, and Valerie Perri Lipson. They will also be anchored by Spencer Inch on drums and percussion.
