]]> Lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman have written songs that are easily amongst the most beloved songs of all time:  The Way We Were, The Windmills of Your Mind, The Summer Knows and more.

Officially opening this week at the Geffen Playhouse is Chasing Mem’ries: A Different Kind of Musical which features songs co-written by this legendary couple. Even before opening, this production has been extended to December 17th.

In this world premiere, Joshua Ravetch (who collaborated with Carrie Fisher on Wishful Drinking) tells the story of a woman who reflects on the life and the men she’s loved.  Tony Award winner Tyne Daly (Gypsy – 1990 revival) plays the lead character.  Robert Forster and Scott Kradolfer also appear in the musical.

Daly was most recently seen at the Valley Performing Arts Center in concert performances of Jerry Herman’s Dear World. Will she be chasing mem’ries of the smiles she left behind?
