Where else can you find a total rookie singing his or her guts out and then find someone like Broadway star Megan Hilty up right behind them? The only place is Jim Caruso’s Cast Party. The show is an institution in New York where the party has been going on for over 16 years. Now Caruso has taken the show to Los Angeles and there will be two nights of open mic singing by the famous and not-so-famous Upstairs At Vitello’s in Studio City on Thursday and Friday.

Later this week we will have an interview with Caruso in which he reveals his “wish list” for Los Angeles and tells other stories about his time as the ultimate nice-guy emcee.

Joining Caruso for these two shows is Billy Stritch (who has his own show in the same venue the night before). So should you decide to join the party and sing a song be sure to bring something upbeat and take it all in. You are being accompanied by the man who plays piano and music directs Tony Bennett, Christine Ebersole, Linda Lavin and some woman named Liza.

So be prepared. Have your sheet music with you. And who knows, you might have a major Broadway or film & television star open for you!
