Fifty years to the day when he first made his debut at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Plácido Domingo will be celebrated for his remarkable career and his contributions to opera and, in particular, opera in Los Angeles. Joining him will be Kristin Chenoweth, Garth Brooks, Uzo Aduba and many opera stars. James Conlon will be conducting the LA Opera Orchestra in this one-night only concert on Friday night.

The 76-year-old shows no signs of slowing down. On Tuesday of this week, Domingo will perform Nabucco in Concert at Chapman College’s Musco Center for the Performing Arts. Next Sunday, Domingo will conclude his run in Nabucco at LA Opera. After that he goes on to Europe for concerts in Denmark and Spain. He’ll also be appearing in a production of Don Carlo in Spain.
