Without question Angela Gheorghiu is one of the most sought-after sopranos in the opera world. Her fairytale relationship with Roberto Alagna made booking the two of them the equivalent of having winning lottery numbers. They divorced, but that has not stopped her from finding another partner in song. Tenor Vittorio Grigólo, who appeared in LA Opera’s production of The Tales of Hoffman, joins her for a recital at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica on Tuesday.

Gheorghiu and Grigólo will be performing solo arias and duets. The announced program (always subject to change) includes selections from Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Puccini’s Manon Lescaut and Tosca along with selections from The Sound of Music and West Side Story.

They will be accompanied by an orchestra lead by Eugene Kohn.
