Do you think you have what it takes to sing with the Los Angeles Master Chorale? Well, even if you don’t you’re welcome at Big Sing 2019 this Saturday on the newly-reopened plaza at the Music Center.
You may not know if you are a bass, baritone, tenor, mezzo-soprano or soprano. But I bet you know the words to some of the songs being performed at this public event:
Ob-La-Di Ob-La Da (The Beatles), Africa (Toto), Let the River Run (Carly Simon), Dancing Queen (Abba), True Colors (Cyndi Lauper), I Love LA (Randy Newman) and more.
And if you don’t know all the worlds to all these songs, there will be a songbook handed out at the event. Big Sing 2019 begins at 6 PM and is a major part of the of the plaza re-opening celebrations.
LA Master Chorale’s Artistic Director, Grant Gershon and Associate Conductor Jenny Wong will lead the event. Also joining are composer Eric Whitacre, Angel City Chorale Artistic Director Sue Fink, PRISM Co-Artistic Director Adrien Redford and Kristen Toedtman, Director of Baltimore’s Community Chorus of Peabody.
I can’t guarantee you that you will land a spot in the LA Master Chorale. But you could always post to social media that you sang with them for the day. Who knows, your vocal prowess could go viral!
This event is free and reservations are not required.
