When Ain’t Misbehavin’ opened at the Longacre Theatre in New York in May of 1978, few thought it would run for over 1,600 performances. But it did. And in the process it made a Nell Carter a star. Not that the other cast members did so badly.

Amongst the cast was Ken Page. If you don’t know his name, you certainly know his voice. He is “Oogie Boogie” in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Page is back with Ain’t Misbehavin’, but instead of performing this revue of Fats Waller songs, he’s directing the show at the La Mirada Center for the Performing Arts.

Frenchie Davis, who appeared on American Idol in 2003 stars in the show. She also appeared on The Voice and on Broadway in Rent.

So if you like “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Black and Blue,” “Keepin’ Out of Mischief Now” and the title song, you’ll want to see what nearly 40 years of experience with the show will bring to the show. Ain’t Misbehavin’ closes October 8th.
