When Argentine playwright/director Arístides Vargas’ play La Razon Blindada first opened in 2011, it was widely acclaimed and went on to travel the world. This week a revival of the play opened at the 24th Street Theatre.
This production stars the same two leads, Jesús Castaños-Chima and Tony Durán as two political prisoners who are only allowed to interact with each other for an hour each day with severe restrictions on their movement. Through the course of their interactions they share stories that allow them to temporarily escape their situation and enjoy the power of imagination. The play is performed in Spanish, but there are supertitles.
The run continues until October 15th.
